Trade Documentation and Logistics Officer

Our firm is a vertically integrated timberlands (forestry) group, with 20 years track record in this industry. Our business entails large volume exports of timber products to India and Asia and ownership/management of timberland assets. We have operations in NZ, USA, South Africa and India, and have a very exciting growth agenda ahead of us.

We are offering a 6-9 month fixed term contract for a Trade Documentation and Logistics Officer to join our ranks and work for/with the Operations Manager. Key responsibilities include:

– End to end preparation and coordination of trade documentation across all our lines of business, ensuring compliance with time SLAs and all required criteria
– Liaising with external logistics and port contractors that provide trade documents and operational information (e.g. shipping companies)
– Liaising with banks for trade finance activity
– Providing support to the Operations Manager in managing logistics across multiple markets (e.g. NZ, USA, South Africa), for bulk and container exports
– Tracking, analysis and reporting of operational data

At the end of the fixed term contract, for the right person we will look to make it a permanent role

What we are looking for…..

– Someone tertiary qualified in economics, finance, international business, accounting or similar disciplines. However, we’re not wedded to this….more important is someone smart and with the right attitude
– Relevant professional experience will be viewed favourably
– Commercial nous and interest in commodities, international trade and finance
– Hungry to learn and ability to work in a fluid, fast paced environment
– Very strong attention to detail and working in a structured manner
– Comfort with working with external stakeholders from different cultures and operating styles
– Strong verbal communication skills
– Hindi, Mandarin, Spanish language skills a bonus
